So much fun!

I booked an Intermediate Surf Session and it was just incredible! The waves were perfect, super consistent, and the instructors were really helpful. I had such a blast. Definitely going to book again and tell all my friends to check it out too!

Good surf, solid experience

I purchased an Adult Surf Lesson recently. Booking online was straightforward, no issues there. I received a confirmation email right away. When I arrived, check-in was smooth, and the staff at the equipment rental desk for my Wetsuit Hire were efficient. The lesson itself was well-structured; the instructor gave clear guidance. The wave quality for a beginner was pretty consistent, which helped a lot with learning. Parking was easy enough to find. My only minor point is the cafe food was a bit pricey, but tasted fine. Overall, a good experience and I felt I got my money's worth.

Fun day, a few hiccups

My son and I went for a Junior Surf Lesson and it was mostly a good experience. The waves were really fun for him, and he loved it. Booking was easy enough on the website. However, when we got there, finding the right changing room was a bit confusing, and it took a while to get the right size Wetsuit Hire. The staff were friendly though, and the lesson itself was well-taught. We also grabbed some snacks from The Wave Cafe Food, which was convenient. The prices for some of the Surf Shop Apparel seemed a little high, but the overall value for the surf lesson was fair. It was a good day out, but the initial organization could be a little clearer.

How do you actually use the promo codes? Is there a box on the website or do you tell them when you arrive?

L Leah Hall 1 week ago
You put the code in at the very end of the online booking process, just before you pay. There's a little box for it.

It's on the booking page when you checkout online. Can't miss it, usually right around where you select payment method.

Is it worth getting one of those multi-session passes? I'm thinking of going a few times this summer.

R Rachel Mitchell 1 week ago
If you're planning on going more than once or twice, absolutely. The multi-session passes work out way cheaper per session.

Yeah, they're pretty good value if you're committed. It's basically a bulk discount. I saved a decent chunk last year.

hey, thinking of taking my 8-year-old for a junior lesson. is it actually good for total beginners or do they need some experience?

A Ashley Thompson 2 weeks ago
Nah, they don't need any experience. My kid did a beginner one there and had never even stood on a board before. The coaches are great with the little ones.

Thinking of heading down for a beginner lesson next month, is the wetsuit hire included or is that extra?

S Sandra E. 2 weeks ago
Nah, wetsuit hire is definitely extra, gotta add it on when you book. Unless you've got your own, obviously.

Yeah, pretty sure it's separate. I paid like £5 or something for it last time I went, not a huge deal.

Does anyone know if The Wave does a discount for NHS staff? My partner works for the NHS and we're planning a trip.

S Susan Smith 1 month ago
Yeah, they do! Just check their website, usually it's a Blue Light Card thing. I think it's like 10-15% off.

They totally do! My friend used her NHS discount for a session a few weeks ago. Makes it a bit cheaper, which is always nice.
